Kimberley Roberts etiquette, manners, confidence, and success go hand-in-handWelcome to my ClassyTip for this week which focuses on:

- Scurrying - Tip #4

In a hurry, too many things to do, not enough time in the day –

Will these situations influence how you walk down a hallway or into a room? Yes, without thinking, most people will scurry rather than walk when under time pressure. And what does a scurrying person look like? Out of control!

Pay attention to your gait and the length of your stride when you walk. You want to always walk in control and at a good pace. If your pace is too slow, you appear sluggish. If your pace is too fast, you scurry and look disorganized.

Practice walking. Wear your different shoes during these sessions, as a shoe can change your gait and balance. Check to see if you pick your feet up as you move. Some people develop a lazy habit of shuffling their feet when they walk, which looks sloppy and sends a negative message.

When you’re feeling stress, take a moment to consciously think about how you’re walking. This habit will allow you to correct yourself if you’re scurrying.

A classy person always appears organized and in control.
